Our Philosophy

Our Philosophy
Many very bright and talented students have not found success in school. The Renaissance School for Arts and Sciences provides a unique educational opportunity for school kids like this. Their access to success can be unlocked by changing how they learn, not what they learn.

Our teaching method blends academic and creative arts subjects. Addressing analytical subjects creatively and creative subjects analytically stimulates both sides of the brain simultaneously. Students who respond to this approach gain a greater understanding of the subject matter. Their new-found interest in learning instills confidence and nurtures self esteem. It truly is a renaissance for these students.

A Curriculum that Inspires . . .
Our curriculum covers all the necessary subjects for California accredited schools. The students receive instruction in the core subjects and art daily. But we go beyond the expected.

We practice, reinforce and enhance the basic reading, writing and mathematic skills as we study art, science, literature and history in a “one room school-house” setting. Studying in this environment lends itself to include character development as well. Students must learn to manage their time and resources and work together as a community to accomplish their goals.

And everyone participates in the creative arts activities. Be it song, dance, theater or visual art, everyone has the opportunity to express himself or herself and shine. At the Renaissance School we don't just turn out good students. We graduate great people.
